पार्श्वभूमी : महाविद्यालयात शिकणाऱ्या गरजू विद्यार्थ्यांना मदत व्हावी तसेच मराठी विज्ञान परिषदेच्या कामाला हातभार लागावा या दुहेरी हेतूने विद्यार्थी शिष्यवृत्ती योजना आखली होती. सन १९९४-९५ या वर्षापासून मुंबईतील विद्यार्थ्यांना या योजनेत संधी दिली. पुढे या उपक्रमाची व्याप्ती वाढवत मराठी विज्ञान परिषदेच्या विभागांना चक्रीय पद्धतीने सामावून घेण्यात आले. सन २०१६ पासून या योजनेचे स्वरूप बदलत एम.एससी भौतिकशास्त्र / रसायनशास्त्र / जीवशास्त्र / गणित, एम. ए. (गणित) ह्या अभ्यासक्रमाच्या महाराष्ट्रात शिकणार्‍या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी शिष्यवृत्ती देण्याचे ठरले. त्यानुसार मूलभूत विज्ञानात उच्च शिक्षण घेण्यासाठी गरजू विद्यार्थ्यांना आधार आणि प्रोत्साहन मिळावे, हा या शिष्यवृत्ती योजनेचा हेतू आहे.
विज्ञान/ गणितात पदव्युत्तर शिक्षण घेणार्‍या महाराष्ट्रातील विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी शिष्यवृत्ती योजना
शिष्यवृत्ती (२०२४-२६) योजनेचा तपशील आणि पात्रता निकष:
- २०२४-२५ या शैक्षणिक वर्षात एम.एससी भौतिकशास्त्र / रसायनशास्त्र / जीवशास्त्र आणि एम.एससी / एम. ए. गणित पहिल्या वर्षात प्रवेश घेतलेल्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी ही शिष्यवृत्ती योजना आहे.
- वरील प्रत्येक विषयातील आठ, अशा एकूण ३२ विद्यार्थ्यांना शिष्यवृत्ती दिली जाईल.
- एम.एससी.च्या / एम.ए.च्या प्रत्येक वर्षासाठी शिष्यवृत्तीची रक्कम रू. १०,०००/- (रुपये दहा हजार फक्त) एवढी असेल. शिष्यवृत्तीधारकांना एम.एससी. / एम.ए.(गणित) भाग १च्या परीक्षेत एकूण ६०% / ७ श्रेणी अंक/गुण किंवा अधिक गुण मिळाले तरच ते एम.एससी. / एम.ए. (गणित) भाग २च्या शिष्यवृत्तीस पात्र ठरतील.
- महाराष्ट्रात १५ वर्षे वास्तव्य असणार्‍या आणि महाराष्ट्रातील महाविद्यालय / विद्यापीठ किंवा अन्य अधिकृत (विद्यापीठ अनुदान आयोग मान्यताप्राप्त) संस्थेमधे एम. एससी. / एम. ए. (गणित)साठी प्रवेश घेतलेल्या, कुटुंबाचे एकूण वार्षिक उत्पन्न आठ लाख किंवा त्यापेक्षा कमी असणार्‍या सगळ्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी सदर योजना खुली आहे.
- ही शिष्यवृत्ती फक्त नियमित (रेग्युलर) अभ्यासक्रमाच्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी आहे.
- प्रत्येक विद्यार्थ्याने अर्जासोबत ‘मराठी विज्ञान परिषदेच्या कामाचे महत्व’ किंवा ‘मराठी विज्ञान परिषदेच्या कामात मी कशी मदत करू शकेन’ या विषयावर मराठीत १० ओळी लिहून पाठवाव्यात, त्याशिवाय अर्ज ग्राह्य धरला जाणार नाही.
- शिष्यवृत्तीधारक विद्यार्थ्यांनी एम.एससी. / एम.ए.च्या दोन्ही वर्षात प्रत्येकवर्षी एकूण ६० तास, मराठी विज्ञान परिषदेच्या ‘समाजासाठी विज्ञानप्रसार’ या कार्यात सहभागी होणे अपेक्षित आहे. हा सहभाग कार्यशाळा घेणे, व्याख्याने देणे, सामाजिक माध्यमातून विज्ञान प्रसार करणे, विज्ञान लेखन इत्यादींपैकी कोणत्याही एक वा अधिकप्रकारे करता येईल. शिष्यवृत्ती धारकाला आपल्या एम.एससी. / एम.ए. करीत असलेल्या नजिकच्या मराठी विज्ञान परिषद विभागाशी संपर्कात रहावे लागेल.
या शिष्यवृत्तीसाठी मराठी विज्ञान परिषदेच्या संकेतस्थळावरून गुगल लिंकमार्फत ऑनलाइन अर्ज भरता येईल. अर्जाबरोबर विद्यार्थ्याचे छायाचित्र, आवश्यक गुणपत्रिका आणि प्रमाणपत्र स्कॅन करून अपलोड करावेत. अर्ज स्वीकारण्याचा अंतिम दिनांक ३१/०८/२०२४

Marathi Vidnyan Parishad’s Scholarship Scheme (2024)
Scholarship Scheme for Students studying in Maharashtra and pursuing Post Graduation in Science / Mathematics.
Background :
The student scholarship scheme was designed with the dual purpose of helping the needy and promising college students and involving them Marathi Vidnyan Parishad’s science popularization work. Since 1994-95 students in Mumbai were given opportunity in this scheme. Further expanding the scope of this activity, Marathi Vidnyan Parishad’s various chapters were included in a rotational manner.
From the year 2016, this scheme’s format has changed. For this programme, it has been decided to offer scholarships to students in Maharashtra pursuing M.Sc. degrees in physics, chemistry, biology, or M.Sc./ M.A. degree in mathematics. This scholarship program’s goal is to help deserving and promising individuals who want to pursue higher education in basic sciences.
Eligibility Criteria of Scholarship (2024-26)
- Scheme is open only to students who have taken admission for M.Sc. degrees in physics, chemistry, biology, or M.Sc./ M.A. degree in mathematics in the academic year 2024-25.
- This year Scholarship will be considered for total 32 students i.e. 8 students each of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics discipline.
- Each scholarship is worth Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. Ten Thousand only) per year. Candidate selected for the scholarship in M.Sc. / M.A. Part-I will be eligible for the scholarship for M.Sc. / M.A. Part-II only if he/she gets aggregate 60% / 7 grade points or more marks/grade in M.Sc. / M.A. Part-I.
- Scheme is open to all candidates who are residing in Maharashtra for last 15 years minimum and are enrolled for M.Sc. / M.A. (Mathematics) in a College / University or recognized (University Grants Commission approved) Institute in Maharashtra and the total annual income of the family upto Rs. 8 lakhs or below.
- This scholarship is only for “Regular course” students.
- Every student should write 10 lines in Marathi on ‘Importance of work of Marathi Vidnyan Parishad’ or ‘How can I help in the work of Marathi Vidnyan Parishad’. Students applying for the scholarship are supposed to enclosed this to the application, without which the application will not be considered.
- Candidates winning the scholarship will be expected to contribute at least 60 hours per year for both the years of their M.Sc./M.A., to further MVP’s mission of spreading awareness of science in the community. This contribution can be in the one or more forms for example; conducting workshops, delivering lectures, using the social media for science popularization, writing science articles for MVP etc. The selected candidates will need to coordinate with respective MVP Vibhag, nearest to them.
